My son came across Carers Direct while searching the internet. We have found their service to be very helpful. My son was telling me, it took no time at all to get in touch with Janice (my care assistant) and to agree all the things that need to be organised.

I know nothing about all the technology that’s used to arrange this, but I can say that it was quick to do and obviously is saving me a considerable amount of money on the cost compared to the care agencies that I firstly approached.

Carers Direct have been very good to me. They helped me to find a lady who now comes in to look after me. She helps me get up in the morning with showering and also helps at bedtime. I have got to know her quite well. She tells me about how things have improved for her now she is working for herself. She particularly appreciates earning a little more.

At first I wasn’t sure that I needed help at home, but now someone comes, I’m not sure how I copped before! She comes in twice a day makes my meals and cleans and tidies the place and keeps me company too.

I organised care for my mother, Edna, who is suffering from Dementia. I live nearby but needed extra help. To me Carers Direct is a bit of a ‘no brainer’ I’ve calculated that we save over three thousand pounds a year compared to the cheapest agency I spoke to. It somehow makes paying Audrey, mum’s care assistant, all the more, easy.

We had helped my mum at home, but it came to a time when more help was needed. Carers Direct introduced me to a lady that lived in with mum and another that came in to help in the mornings and evenings. Though expensive I am not sure how we would have coped otherwise. I would just like to say a warm ‘thank you’ to those kind ladies.
